Der erste Eindruck zaehlt! Tritt man durch die Tuer von Dar Qawi sieht man als erstes den mit Rosenblaettern bestreuten Alabaster springbrunnen. In Nischen um ihn herumgruppiert sind kleine Sitzecken zum Lesen, Schachspielen, Musikhoeren oder einfach nur entspannen. Eine kleine Teekueche sorgt fuer Erfrischung. Ein Gaeste WC ist auch diskret verborgen.
Auf der ersten Etage sind die Schlafzimmer zu finden. Zwei Doppelzimmer und ein Zweittzimmer, jeweils mit dazugehoerigen Badezimmern, sowie ein zustzlicher kleiner Ankleideraum, beherbergen bis zu 6 Erwachsene plus Kleinkind. Der ‘Salon’, ein helles huebsches Wohnzimmer mit Blick auf die mit Bougainvilia bewachsene Dachterrasse und Kamin, befindet sich auf dem 2.Stock. Es ist mit Satleliten Fernsehen sowie DVD/CD Geraet ausgestasttet. Eine kleine Essecke schliesst per Durchreiche an die Kueche an. Aber auch auf der Terrasse stehen Tisch und Stuehle zum Essen ‘al fresco’ bereit, sowie natuerlich auch Sonnenliegen. |

| detailed description of town and location: | Essaouira is a very picturesque little fishing town on the Atlantic coast of Morocco, just over two hours drive from Marrakech or Agadir. It has in turn been a Portuguese colony called Mogador, an important trading link between Timbuktu and Europe and a French protectorate. In the 1960s, it was discovered by Jimi Hendrix, the Roiling Stones and other musicians, artists and hippies who all succumbed to its charm. Nowadays it is popular with chic French families, Brits, Germans, Scandinavians and Italians with a smattering of Americans who own houses there and who enjoy the laid back vibe, the mild weather and the friendly ambience. English people often describe it as an Arabic version of Rock in Cornwall whilst the French insist that it is like an African St.Tropez 50 years ago!
Looking fresh and pretty all in white and blue, Essaaouira’s small walled medina with its minarets and souks make it an enchanting place to meander around before meeting at the main square for a mint tea or walking along the ramparts to the port to eat freshly caught fish. There are plenty of excellent cafes and restaurants, from authentic to trendy, and fabulous local craft shops to while away the time in. Haggling is essential and you should never pay more than two thirds max of any given price. The beach is Essaouira’s piece des resistance. Long, wide and white with good WC facilities along the promenade, it is very inviting to sunbathers as well as to those who want to kite surf, wind surf, camel ride or generally be active. Horse riding and quad biking facilities are also nearby. |
