Podere Pietreta is a large, old house from the eighteenth-century, entirely in stone, that was recently the subject of a careful and passionate restoration, maintaining the particular architectural qualities of the structure and using only original materials.
The estate is positioned on a hill, in a position of exceptional beauty within the natural and artistic park of Val d'Orcia, declared a world heritage site by UNESCO. The farmhouse, 500m above sea level, dominates the hills that slope towards the plane: from here you can admire a vast natural setting, from Monte Cetona to the cliffs of San Casciano, from the rock of Celle sul Rigo to the slopes of Monte Amiata. A park of three hectares surrounds Podere Pietreta. Under the shade of large oaks, there is a panoramic swimming pool with a Roman staircase (6x12m). There are 3 inviting apartments that are available for guests - of varying sizes - and a beautiful independent house - also in stone - newly restored; there is a warm and refined atmosphere, the residences are elegantly furnished with furniture from the era. The apartments are all on the ground level and have a private entrance; for each of these, there is a private space with a large umbrella, table, chairs and barbecue. Each apartment is located on one of the three sides of the farmhouse, ensuring that guests have complete privacy. |

| detailed description of town and location: | Podere Pietreta is the ideal point of departure for short excursions (30/60 minutes) to some of the most appealing places in Tuscany: Bagno Vignoni, Pienza, Montepulciano, Montalcino, Radicofani, San Quirico d'Oricia, Chiusi, Cetona, Cortona, Arezzo, Siena... (see the interactive map).
In 20 minutes you are among the forests of Monte Amiata, Umbria is half an hour by car. Another exceptional characteristic is the presence, less than 30 minutes away, of numerous thermal baths, many of them among the best known: Terme di San Casciano, the pools of Sarteano, San Filippo, the hydrothermal complexes of Chianciano, etc. Val d'Orcia is in the heart of Tuscany, south of Siena, surrounded by the hills that separate Lazio from Umbria and extend along the track of one of the most beautiful Italian roads, the Roman Via Cassia, leading ultimately to the slopes of Monte Amiata. In 2005, Val d'Orcia was listed by UNESCO as a world heritage site. The Valle offers natural and artistic riches of immense value, as well as the five communes which make it up and which form the Artistic, Natural and Cultural Park of Val d'Orcia, with the aim of ensuring the active conservation of the environment, as well as artistic and natural heritage. Val d'Orcia also represents a precious food and wine stop: it is located in the centre of the Chianti area and the Nobile di Montepulciano, it is the homeland of the pasture meat, forest mushrooms and, above all, exceptional cheeses, fruit of the competition between traditional local types and recent inclusions of Sardinian sheep farming. During the entire year, there are many folklore events, the feasts of traditional products and artisan fares, cultural events, theatrical and musical performances. For lovers of sport there is an embarrassment of riches: Trekking, horse riding, alpine skiing, swimming (including thermal baths), sporting fishing, car rallies.... |
