Ravda is a small coastal sea side resort in South-Eastern Bulgaria. The village is located very near to other famous resorts. It is situated only 3 km away from Nessebur (UNESCO heritage town), 5 km away from Sunny Beach (the biggest Black sea resort in Bulgaria) and 30 km from Burgas. Ravda is usually preferred for its nice weather and ecologically clean air since it is situated far from the big cities and industrial zones. It is also popular with its international youth camps. The sea is very safe since it has no dangerous species like poisonous jelly-fish. There are various restaurants, taverns and bars in the village. There are regular bus lines during the summer season from the central bus station of Ravda to other places like Nessebur, Sunny Beach (every 20 min) and to Burgas (every 30 min). Nearby Towns I. Nessebur It is situated on a small peninsula. Nessebur is one of the oldest towns in Europe which still emanates the spirit of different ages and nations: Thracians, Hellenes, Romans, Slavs, Byzantines and Bulgarians. It's greatest heritage sites are: - its many churches: the Old Bishop's Residence in an early Byzantine style (4th-5th c.), the New Bishops Residence (St. Stefan), containing valuable 12-th century murals, the Christ Pantocrator and Aliturgetos churches (13-th -14th c.) - it’s National Revival houses with stone foundations and broad wooden eaves, overhanging narrow cobbled lanes leading right into the sea, are also remarkably beautiful. |
