This former palace was built in 1797 as the country-seat of the last Labin landlord. Sveti Martin (Saint Martin ) is a peaceful place, situated above the river Raša and is surrounded by a number of small peasant houses in a genuine natur. The palace is approached through a stone gate and hundred-year old chestnut alley. Outside the building there is the St. Martin´s parish church, built in 1907, and the 16th century Madona of Health church.
The palace was restored in 2002 by efforts of three families. It offers accomodation in 6 comfortable apartments, has a wine-celler (konoba) and a typical istrian fireplace. In the Konoba the hosts serve a rich homemade breakfast if desired and they offer Istrian prosciutto and domestic cheese with a glass of good Istrian wine such as malvazija or teran. Next to the grounds is a restaurant which offers nice Istrian cuisine. The house offers out-of-door activities such as bike touring in the surrounding villages with lovely landscape, walking tours to the river Raša valley, wild aromatic herbs or mushrooms gathering. For those who prefer short walks in the healthful air there is a nearby pine wood forest. The hosts also rent bicycles. The palace is only 15 km from the beautiful Rabac tourist resort beaches and 10 km from the center of the City of Labin. |

| detailed description of town and location: | Der Palast befindet sich im kleinen Ort Sv. Martin (Sankt Martin) über dem Canon des Flusses Rasa (Rascha), umgegeben von kleinen Bauernhöfen und unverdorbener Natur. Zum Palast kommt man durch ein Steintor entlang einer Allee von hundertjährigen Kastanienbäumen. Ausserhalb des Komplexes liegt die grosse im Jahr 1907 ausgebaute Pfarrkirche von Sankt Martin, und die kleine baufällige Gesundheitsmarienkirche aus dem 16. Jahrhundert. Am Fusse von St. Martin befindet sich das Tal des Flusses Rasa, das sich über 20km von Rasa bis zum Dorf Sumber erstreckt. Mit dem Fahrrad können Sie viele Dörfer in der Umgebung von St. Martin und Labin (10 km entfernt) erkunden. Bei diesen Unternehmungen wird Sie der Fahrradklub in Labin mit Fahraddtouren auf der Labinscina samt Tourleitung unterstützen- Der Badeort Rabac liegt 15 km entfernt. |
