| description of accommodation: | La Bedina is a two floor house and the first floor, the old living part of the house is available to our guests. It is approximately of 60 m2 divided into 4 rooms. The entrance is in the kitchen that was the room where chestnuts were dried. It is well equipped with 4 cooking plates, electric oven, a fridge, a firewood stove and the ancient stone oven. The pavement is made of the original sandstone blocks. The sleeping room, used as a chicken run in the past, has its ancient stone walls and an arched roof made with chestnut poles and hazelnut branches and lime. The living room is a spacious sunny place with a large sleeping sofa, an old bench, the original corner cupboard and a dinig table. A cast-iron stove warms the room during winter. From the living room we move to the toilet a room particular for its impressive stone doorpost, the stonework built-in shower. The French window in the living room opens on a large balcony with a beautiful view on the Magra Valley. |

| detailed description of town and location: | La Bedina is set in the green landscapes of the Apennine Mountains. The village of Groppodalosio, where la Bedina is, is ca 520m above see level and it is on the Via Francigena, the pilgrimage way which in the medieval times leaded from Canterbury to Roma. The village is famous for its medieval bridge on the Magra River. The surroundings offer either peaceful easy walks along the natural tracks connecting Groppodalosio with the other villages, or hiking excursion for hiking lovers. This is the most northern part of Tuscany, named Lunigiana outlined by the Apennine, the Apuan Alps and the Tyrrhenian Sea. La Bedina is perfect for a relaxing holiday in this special area of Tuscany, or for visiting the classic touristic cities of Pisa, Lucca, Siena e Firenze. Also, some of the most famous costal area of Italy like Versilia and Cinque Terre are easy to reach. |
