Vrbnik ist für sein glagolitisches Erbe weltweit bekannt – Glagoliza ist die älteste kroatische Schrift aus dem 9.
Jahrhundert. Sogar ein Viertel aller erhaltenen glagolitischen Manuskripte stammt aus Vrbnik.
Vrbnik ist bekannt für die bodenständige Weinsorte Vrbnicka zlahtina. Diesen bekannten trockenen Weisswein und
natürlich auch andere Inselspezialitäten kann man in vielen Weinkellern, Gasthäusern, Restaurants verkosten.
Vrbnik hat im Winter ca 1000 und im Sommer ca 2000 Einwohner.
