The guest cottage has been built like a typical traditional Alentejo house, with a bright, light and airy open plan living area, plus two bedrooms and two bathrooms, one en-suite. French windows from both the bedrooms and the living area lead onto terraces revealing the stunning views across the Alentejo countryside and lake….

It provides all the necessities of life with a fully equipped kitchen and well appointed bathrooms, including under floor heating. and wood burning fireplace in the cooler months. The 8×4 m pool is set some 100*m from the house, in a most beautiful spot with splendid views.
The cottage is the ideal base for a relaxing holiday . Here you can experience peace and quiet, unspoilt views, countryside at its purest. Relax and enjoy, do anything from sunbathing to sitting down reading, from romantic dinners by the pool to picnics by the lake, from swimming in the pool or lake to rowing*, from resting to exploring the surroundings, from horse-riding to cycling…

Nestled within the Alentejo countryside you will find this peaceful location adjoining a nature reserve and a stunning lake. Spectacular views make this a small paradise. On 40 ha of rolling hills, densely scattered with holm oak trees, we have created a “modern” monte (Portuguese farm) using traditional building techniques. The farm consists of a dwelling house, a guest cottage, horse stables for 5 horses and a swimming pool!

Luminoso, the name of our home, refers to the exceptional quality of light found in this part of Portugal. Far from the fumes and pollution found in much of Europe, the millions of stars twinkling in the night sky are a testament to the clarity of the atmosphere in the Baixo Alentejo.
Yet you will find pretty villages in the area and the two pretty old towns nearby offer cafes, restaurants, supermarkets, shops, banks, post offices and much more
