The cozy village of Kötschach-Mauthen is located in the Gailtal region in the southern part of the Austrian state of Carinthia. This province is renowned for its beautiful nature, featuring stunning lakes, elongated mountain ranges, and historical landmarks.

Kötschach-Mauthen is conveniently situated at the intersection of Plöckenpass Road and Gailtal Road. Plöckenpass Road connects Kötschach-Mauthen to Oberdrauburg (Lienz) in the north and the Plöcken Pass on the Italian border in the south.

The Gailtal Road, which follows the Gail River, links the picturesque Lesachtal on the west side to Hermagor/Villach on the east side.

You can purchase a top ski pass, allowing you to ski in over 30 ski resorts in Carinthia and East Tyrol. In Kötschach, you can also enjoy cross-country skiing and winter hiking.

Summer:
During summer, various tourist excursion cards are available for purchase. These include the Carinthia Card (activities throughout Carinthia) and the East Tyrol Card (Lienz region). You can buy a Carinthia Card for 1, 2, or 5 weeks. The East Tyrol Card is available for 3 out of 7 days and for 7 days. Additionally, you can visit Aquarena every day.
