Our holiday flat on the upper floor

The holiday flat on the upper floor has a separate entrance. It is approx. 55 square metres in size and suitable for 3-4 people. It consists of a bedroom, a living room, a kitchen and a bathroom. The entire flat has been completely renovated in stages over the last few years and is furnished with bright and comfortable furniture. A high-quality sofa bed in the living room offers additional sleeping accommodation for up to 2 people. From the dining area in the living room, you have a fantastic view of the water. The kitchen is equipped with a dishwasher, ceramic hob, microwave and all the kitchen utensils you need for self-catering. There is an additional small dining area for 2 people here. The daylight shower room has been completely renovated. The flat has its own seating area with outdoor garden furniture. The garden with sunbathing lawn and beach chairs is shared by the tenants of both flats.

Enjoy your holiday at any time of year. Our powerful heating system will ensure that your holiday home remains a cosy hub for your activities, even in the cooler months. In spring and autumn, the landscape along the Schlei river has a special charm. Hiking and cycling are often more pleasant during these seasons than in midsummer. And after a lovely autumn or winter walk in the fresh sea air, a strong Frisian tea or grog tastes all the better in a warm parlour.

How to get there

If travelling by car, take the A7 motorway. At the Schleswig Schuby exit, take the B 201 towards Kappeln. Shortly after entering Kappeln, turn off at the large junction towards Gelting onto the B 199. After approx. 6 km, a road branches off to the right towards Maasholm. Follow this road until you reach the ‘Exhöft’ town sign. After a few metres, you will find our holiday home Exhöft 3 on the right-hand side, recognisable by a sign with our logo.

Take the train to Süderbrarup and from there take the bus via Kappeln to Exhöft/Maasholm. The bus stop is only a few metres away from our holiday home. However, as the bus connections are not coordinated, we recommend that you have a car for your holiday with us.

Holiday destination

The holiday flat is located in our holiday home in Exhöft, just before Maasholm, directly on the banks of the Schlei (20 m), with a fantastic view of the water and direct access to the shore. The secluded garden with beach chairs borders the Viking-Frisian cycle path, where you can explore the beautiful landscape of Angeln on foot or by bike. This beautiful path along the Noor also takes you to all the shops, restaurants and the lively fishing and yacht harbour of Maasholm in just a few minutes on foot. There is also a surfing and sailing school on site. In nearby Hasselberg/Kronsgaard, sandy beaches invite you to swim in the Baltic Sea, which can be reached on foot, by bike or by car. Opposite the house is an extensive nature reserve with hiking and cycling trails to the Baltic Sea beaches.

Gelting and Kappeln are ideal for shorter trips by bicycle or car. Kappeln has developed into the centre of the holiday region and awaits you with a mixture of sights, nice shops and a variety of restaurants. Enjoy a cup of coffee in the town after a stroll through the pedestrian zone or a delicious fish dish right on the harbour promenade after a walk to the fishing or museum harbour. This is also where the boats depart for trips on the Schlei.

Suitable destinations for day trips include the Viking settlement of Haithabu near Schleswig, the moated castle in Glücksburg, and Tondern and Sonderburg in Denmark. Further suggestions for leisure activities on the Schlei and Baltic Sea can be found in the holiday apartment.
